The Addiction Action Campaign

This is the question which the Addiction Action Campaign is about to lodge in the constitutional court in South Africa.

For those who have heard of South Africa’s constitution, it’s been hailed as one of the most progressive constitutions in the world, receiving praise from all the greatest nations of the world.

Although I lack confidence in the integrity of our country’s elected government, I do believe in the integrity of our country’s constitutional court, and the strength of our constitution.

The question we are asking, is our application, and I believe that the answer is unavoidable. It’s only a matter of time before we receive the ruling we’re expecting.

The decision will also be the making of history and will result in South Africa becoming the international yardstick by which all democracies will be measured on the issue of profiting from addiction. It will also establish the Addiction Action Campaign as an international authority on the subject and will usher in a new movement in social reform and addiction harm reduction.

By asking this question internationally, whilst presenting the answer that South Africa has determined, in time, trillions of dollars will be loosed and channeled to addiction and substance abuse NGO’s worldwide. The hope that this initiative presents to the world promises to provide a real solution to this horrific worldwide epidemic.

The Addiction Action Campaign needs all the help we can get to ensure the success of this project in South Africa first.

Can the world afford for us not to succeed?
